I bought my Scooter in April 2023 and rode it for around 800 miles before installing the steering dampener
You can ride the RS5 without it just fine but I have to say I love having the steering dampener on as it keeps the handlebars from wobbling when I lift my hand to look at my watch or wave (which I don't recommend)

Install was super quick and simple, material are high quality and the damper adds additional steering stability needed for this beast of a scooter. Wow!
