How to Avoid Flat Tires - RoadRunner Scooters

Flat tires may result from various factors. It is crucial to adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Tire Pressure: Maintain the air pressure within both scooter tires at all times. Refer to the specified PSI (pressure per square inch) value indicated on the sidewall of the tire. It is advisable to inflate the tires once the pressure drops to approximately 4 PSI below this specified value. For instance, if your tires have a recommended pressure of 50 PSI, refill them when they reach around 46 PSI.
  2. Installation: When installing a new tube, ensure that it retains approximately 1 PSI of pressure. This helps the tube maintain its shape and prevents pinches or folds, which can lead to flats. Additionally, tighten the main hub bolts in a star pattern to distribute bolt torque evenly.
  3. Hazards: If your tubes consistently suffer from flats, inspect the interior of the tire or rim for any sharp edges or objects. These may puncture the tubes and cause flats. Regular inspection and removal of such hazards are essential for preventing tire damage.
