After about a week with the new Roadrunner RS5 2.0 I have to say I have had zero issues or complaints. Apart from the size and weight, it makes up for itself with comfort and distance. I travel to work about 20 minutes ride each way with gravel roads, asphalt streets, and bike trails. The suspension may seem firm at first but after a while you break in the hydraulic springs and feel very few bumps. On the topic of charging, I haven’t had to charge this scooter in four days when using first gear. When it comes to torque going up hills, I was skeptical but quickly found out it has absolutely no decrease in cruising speed when you hit a 25 degree slope.
The bright lights and solid build design really shows with the price you pay for performance and quality.
Overall this scooter is a must buy for long range and all terrain traveling! Have not thought about buying another kind since.

I’m struggling to find criticism for this scooter. This thing is amazing. Coming from a cheaper $1000 Chinese knock-off, it is a night and day difference. It feels solidly constructed down to every last nut and bolt. Sine wave controller is so smooth, but doesn’t have that same burst of speed from a square wave controller, so if max speed is important to you, that might be worth noting. I will gladly lose a bit of acceleration for the sake of stability. There are settings that can be adjusted, I think, to increase that acceleration force though, but I can’t speak on it since I haven’t tried it. Suspension is butter, it does amazing on the public roads and even on some mild gravel and rock paths that I have tried. I have heard Roadrunner customer support is next level, but thankfully I have had no need to contact them in the 8 days I have owned it so far. The blinkers are a cool detail, although one I haven’t really used. The headlight is adequate but not really sufficient for night riding, but hey, I’m reaching here. Overall, this is the one you have been looking for. If you are here reading this then you know your stuff already and are just waiting to convince yourself to make the jump. Let me settle your mind and just say, GO FOR IT.

Before buying I considered several options, and ended up going with the RS5 from RR because of the removable battery, good turn signals and back light, tubeless tires, hill climbing power, speed capable of matching cars on suburban streets, and the US based brand with responsive customer service. With a scooter this heavy it's a significant advantage to have a removable battery. I chose the RS5, and I like that at a later date I could get a second battery to upgrade it to the RS5+ and not only have a longer range from 1 battery but have the ability to swap and extend the range. Now for a few things that could be improved. The multi-tool it comes with is to short/bulky to be able to get into the areas to tighten screws, be prepared to get your own set of long hex wrenches and adjustable cresent wrench(found at my local hardware store). I'd really like for this scooter to have traction control, and also a higher IP water rating so I don't have to stress about random weather changes and can at least ride it slowly to the train if it happens to start raining(Lime scooters can do this) also other scoots on that market have up to an IPX6 water resistance rating(so it is possible). The front headlight could also be improved a lot if it had more spill/wasn't such a narrow beam. The cords by the handlebars are very tight, I'd like more slack to be able to upgrade it to some folding bike handlebars, also the current handlebar is tapered and bent with very minimal room for accessories like a phone holder, mirrors, aftermarket light(the front stock light is weak and narrow beamed, but the other side and back lights are good at night), rear view camera screen, ect... and I've had to get handlebar doublers. I can't tell the difference between regen braking Pb1-4 and they don't seem to noticeably effect the battery voltage when applying the brake, Pb5 is very strong on gear 1 but is strong yet smooth on gears 2-3, Pb5 causes a noticeable spike in the battery voltage(gives some juice back), I'd really like some kinda add-on that's a seperate throttle for the regen brakes, or maybe like an update where if you push and hold D/S while applying the throttle it switches to a variable regen brake?(this sounds to complicated mid ride, maybe another button next to the throttle to switch between brake/gas for smoothly going down hills with a variable brake setting yet also keep the regular ebrake settings so they can engage at full force when street riding). In summary Pb5 is pretty good for riding on the streets and stoping smooth and strong at full speed, but it's really sudden/jerky if I'm trying to slowly roll down a hill at a controlled pace. The charge port on the outside of the scooter needs an improved cover that seals it better, especially because water damage isn't covered by the warrantee(also if you take out the battery there's 3 little holes on the bottom, 2 visible under the battery and 1 under the controller section). The real world minimum range for me on the RS5(52V, 23.4Ah, 1217Wh)is about 18.5miles(I had to push it back about 0.5mi, so the odometer shows 19mi with an empty battery), but I was going up a lot of hills at 25ish mph and around 30-40mph on roads, and I'm 230lbs with a large heavy backpack. I have yet to test out the max range while going slow on gear 1. Also I'd like to see one with an unique and original look. The RS5 looks very very similar to the Vsett 10+, Kukrin G3 pro, and Maxfun 10 Pro, for example the Minimotors Blade X looks weird but also unique, even the Mukuta 10+ has similar specs but also has a unique look that sets it apart from the Vsett or other similar scoots. Overall though it beats all the other scooters in it's price range for the features, price during sales/good value, and customer service. I really like this scooter and I'm excited to ride it more when it becomes summer again. I think this will help increase my mobility within the public transportation system and also pay for itself in 6.75 months by canceling out a majority of my ride share costs, if I were to buy a car it would take 10-12yrs to cancel out those costs(not including maintenance or gas). I also think this has a major advantage over mopeds or motorcycles because it's very portable. PEV's are the transport of the future.
