What is RoadRunner Scooters’ Return Policy?

Scooter Returns

    All electric scooter returns purchased from RoadRunner Scooters MUST be shipped back within 10 days of delivery. (WE REGRETFULLY DO NOT ACCEPT SCOOTER RETURNS UNLESS THEY ARE IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING, AND HAVE NEVER BEEN RIDDEN) **PLEASE DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR BOXES** 

    RoadRunner Scooters also reserves the right to refuse any returned scooter we feel does not meet our standards for resell.

    All Cancelled Orders and Pre-order Cancellations made after 24 hours of being placed will be charged a 10% processing fee. We pay a processing fee on every transaction of 3.2% of your total purchase price. We also pay a 3.2% fee when a refund is made on that purchase. We therefore charge a 10% fee under these circumstances to recoup our costs.

    Parts and Accessories Returns

      RoadRunner Scooters does not accept returns of parts, accessories, or apparel for any reason.  All sales on parts, accessories, or apparel are final and non-refundable.  So please make certain you know what is being ordered prior to making your final decision.

      If an accessory or part is defective when received, RoadRunner Scooters will provide a replacement/exchange at no cost to the customer. This must be reported within 10 days of delivery.

      When a purchase for a part or an accessory is made from our online store, the responsibility to ensure the accessory is compatible with a certain scooter model rests squarely on the shoulders of the customer.  Please contact support@roadrunnerscooters.com if you need help identifying a part.  Please include multiple photos of the part in question for better assistance.

      Certain parts within a scooter model have undergone changes, such that we must have photos of the item you currently have on your scooter to ensure you receive the right generation of that item.  These items include, but are not limited to:

        1. D6+ Stem
        2. D6+ Motor (front and side photo)
        3. D4+ 2.0 Speed Control
        4. D4+ 2.0 Motor
        5. Again, if you order the wrong part, you will be responsible for the shipping cost to and from to do an exchange.  So please contact us at support@roadrunnerscooters.com with photos of your current part so that we can better assist you

       Qualification for a scooter return?

        To qualify for a return, the product must be returned undamaged, unused, in its original packaging and same condition as the day it arrived. Buyer pays for ALL shipping costs (original shipment and return) if there are no manufacturer defects.

        We do not accept returns of used products, and there will be an automatic 10% to 20% restocking fee deducted from all unused returned merchandise.

        Prior to returning any scooter, please contact us first at: support@roadrunnerscooters.com to verify and receive a return authorization.  A photo of the odometer is required before any scooter is approved for return.  This is for both our security and yours.

        Having an odometer reading greater than zero miles is not a deal breaker for a return; but we must have that documented before we can approve a return.

        DO NOT send scooters to the manufacturer OR the address it was shipped from! If this step is skipped, the buyer takes full responsibility for all shipping costs to get the package to our Denver, CO warehouse. All lost or damaged packages that were sent back incorrectly will be the responsibility of the buyer.

        Upon approval of the return, and once the scooter is received at our Denver headquarters, we will do a thorough inspection of the product and all refunds will be issued within 7 business days from the day we received the returned package.  Final amounts will ONLY be issued to the form of payment used for the original purchase.

        Shipping a scooter back to us prior to initiating a formal return request/gaining authorization will result in an automatic refusal of your return.  RoadRunner Scooters reserves the right to refuse and reject a shipment if it arrives at our headquarters unauthorized. 

        Please be aware: the shipping costs for electric scooters purchased through our company will be in the range of $100-$400, depending on the return location, and also the weight and dimensions of a package. RoadRunner Scooters absorbs this cost and offers free shipping for all scooter orders. This return policy ensures that both the shipping cost absorbed in the initial sale, and the cost of the return to RoadRunner Scooters HQ, is recouped from the customer.

        Exchanges 

          If you would like to exchange your new scooter for another option, please contact us and we will make every effort to make that happen. Return shipping charges will be the responsibility of the buyer.

          Common Scenarios for Scooter Return/Exchanges

          Scooter Return Scenario A:  John bought the D6+ Hydraulic scooter for $1890, but when he got it home, he realized it was too big and powerful for his needs.  He would like to return the scooter for a refund.

          • John emails support@roadrunnerscooters.com the same day in which he received his scooter. He is requesting a return and full refund for order RR1001; he includes a photo of the odometer, which reads 0.5 miles
          • John still has all his original packaging
          • John will be responsible for the following fees:
          • The 10% restocking fee of $189
          • Shipping costs to him for $100
          • Shipping cost to return the product back to RoadRunner Scooters $100
          • Possible additional fees if there is something is found upon inspection.
          • John agrees to the terms above and the return process is approved and initiated. RR emails John a pickup label and schedules.
          • The scooter is shipped back to RoadRunner Scooters HQ
          • During inspection, the scooter’s kickstand is discovered to be completely broken
          • Within 7 days from the day on which the scooter was returned to HQ, the following refund was issued to John:

          Scooter Exchange Scenario B: Sarah bought the D4+ 3.0, but upon receipt, she decides she would like to exchange her unused D4+ 3.0 ($1550) for a new LS7+ ($3390).  She would like to pay the difference between the two models.

          Sarah emails her exchange request to support@roadrunnerscooters.com the same day as the delivery date; she includes a photo of the odometer, which reads 0 miles. Sarah still has all her original packaging

          Sarah will be responsible for the following fees:

          • 10% restocking fee (waived for exchange upgrades)
          • Shipping costs of D4+ 3.0
          • Shipping costs of return of D4+ 3.0 to RoadRunner Scooters HQ
          • Possible additional fee if there is something found upon inspection
          • Sarah agrees to the terms above and the exchange process is initiated
          • The D4+ 3.0 is returned to RoadRunner Scooters HQ for inspection, which is just as it was received, in brand new condition
          • Customer pays the difference between the amount left after deductions, which is $2195; see breakdown here:

          • Scooter Return Scenario C  Adam buys a D4+ 2.0, which was received Jan 2nd, 2021.  After a couple rides, his housing complex informs him that motorized scooters, even the electric ones, are not allowed on campus.  Adam decides to stow the scooter away and resell it; but by Jan 25th, he realizes it would be quicker to just return it to RoadRunner Scooters for a refund   
           Adam is not eligible for a return. Per our policy all returns must be shipped back with 10 days of delivery, which was Jan 12th

             

              WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY PRODUCT BACK FOR ANY REASON AFTER 30 DAYS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE

              RoadRunner Scooters reserves the right to refuse any returned scooter we feel does not meet our standards for resell, or any order that does not fall within the parameters of this return policy. By purchasing from RoadRunner Scooters, you are accepting all terms of this policy.
